Blue Ash Listed in the Top 20 Best Suburbs in the U.S.
Blue Ash is the 17th Best Place to Live in America and the number one Best Place to Live in Ohio! That’s according to Niche.com, which creates the annual Best Places to Live rankings by using data from sources such as the U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the CDC, combined with millions of resident reviews. Blue Ash is the only Ohio city to make it in the top 20 of the 2025 Best Places to Live in America list.
Blue Ash Named the Best Place to Live in Ohio
The City of Blue Ash takes the top spot in another coveted ranking! Blue Ash has been named the top place to live in Ohio. The website Stacker.com analyzed Niche.com ratings and determined the best place to live in every state. Blue Ash came in first in the Buckeye State, due to the City’s cost of living, educational attainment, housing, and schools.
The City of Blue Ash is ranked #3 in the “2021 Top Places to live in the Cincinnati Region,” according to a Niche.com study released today. Thanks in part to resident reviews, Niche gave the City an overall grade of A+ in 2020 and 2021. The City was ranked #5 in the “2020 Top Places to live in the Cincinnati Region.”
The City is also now #9 in the “Best Places to Live in Ohio,” according to Niche.com. Niche.com states that the goal of the Best Places to Live Rankings is to provide accurate, comparable, and thorough evaluations of places. The website collects and analyzes dozens of rankings factors from federal and local government datasets and combines those with proprietary Niche data and community reviews.
One reviewer wrote, “Blue Ash is a small town in the suburbs of Cincinnati with small shops, local businesses, and a bustling economy. Blue Ash is safe, diverse in many ways, as well as easily accessible. City workers maintain a gorgeous environment year-round in order for a pristine look. Blue Ash has become a hot spot for local restaurants and businesses which are good for a night out or exploring the town. Overall, Blue Ash has a warm friendly environment that seeps out through the kind people, local businesses, and enjoyable environment.”
Summit Park in Blue Ash is the winner of the Best Local Park in the Cincinnati Family’s Best of Parenting 2020. Every August, Cincinnati Family Magazine readers are asked to nominate local businesses in categories ranging from favorite camp to best date night. Voting takes place the month of September via cincinnatifamilymagazine.com.
Residents’ efforts have landed Blue Ash in the top spot for recycling in the region once again. With a 67 percent diversion rate, Blue Ash won the 2020 Best City Waste Diversion Rate Award from the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District. This is the highest diversion rate of any community in all of Hamilton County. “The City is grateful for the residents who are on board with recycling citywide,” said Public Works Director Gordon Perry. “This is the second year in a row the City has been number one and we couldn’t do it without the residents’ efforts.”
Robust yard trimmings collection options helped the community divert a staggering 7,935 tons of yard trimmings away from landfills in 2019. Dog Days: A Year in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile by author/TV writer Dave Ihlenfeld. Details his time as a “hotdogger” for the famous frankfurter maker. As part of his travels, Ihlenfeld visited the City of Blue Ash with a fellow hotdogger named Melissa. The experience led to his dubbing Blue Ash as the “friendliest city” he visited and is detailed in his book.
Melissa and I never meant to fall in love with Blue Ash. It was supposed to be just another anonymous city, a convenient place to stop on our way through Ohio. But it turned out to be oh so much more. Everywhere we went, the kind Blue Ashians greeted us with open arms.
City Awarded for
Financial Reporting
For the 33rd straight year, Blue Ash has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the GFOA for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting, and it represents a significant accomplishment by the city and its administration. The award is based on high standards including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story, and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
In its first 9 years of operation, the Cooper Creek Event Center located at the Blue Ash Golf Course, has been voted as the “Best of Weddings” pick by TheKnot.Com, a popular national wedding planning website. Thousands of brides posted their reviews of wedding vendors and rated Cooper Creek online which led to this prestigious award. Cooper Creek also won “Best of the City” by Cincinnati Magazine for weddings, corporate meetings and events.
